My Heart is Full
It was my natal day last December 17. And just like any other ordinary day, I started my day. Well you know as I get older, birthdays are getting less exciting, like they are just normal days, like nothing's special. I don't know if it is just me, but yeah, it felt that way. So, I was not preparing anything special too for my day, except tho for the special brownies, which I got busy with for my little business.
So after all the baking and stuff, I went out to get the pieces of sweets delivered to my customers. I was out the whole afternoon. It was already 7:00 in the evening, and I was still on my way home. I got hungry so I stopped by a chicken stall and got 2 whole roasted chickens so I would be sure I had something for dinner which I could also share with the people at home.
I was in a hurry to get in as I was starving. I got surprised, as I open the door my family played a "Happy Birthday" song, crowned me flower like a princess, sashed me the "Hey! It's my birthday" sash like a beauty queen, and walked me to my father who was patiently carrying with his two calloused hands the birthday cake they all got for me. What a great surprise!
Later that evening, I got another surprise from super close friends. They went to see and personally greet me with their beautifully presented gifts in their car's compartment. There, my heart was getting full. I never saw these happening. The day which I expected to be just an ordinary day turned into a very special day full of gifts, surprises, and love. I was melting.
