The Summoner Predictions Series:

So in the most recent Town Hall we got some JUICY previews for Earth and Death, so here's a Splinterlands Speculations for the EARTH Summoner, his name? Immortalis.

I'm going to make multiple predictions for each of these, at least one prediction will assume that the Legendary Summoners are Invaders, and at least one will assume they are new Defenders. For those of you unaware of the Lore, the Chaos Legion is an evil invading force seeking to destroy Splinterlands and sacrifice it to their god... So there are now Summoners who are Defenders of Splinterlands, like Malric and Lyanna, and Summoners who are Invaders with Chaos Legion, like General Sloan and Tarsa.

Splinterlands Speculations: EARTH Edition

The Earth summoners have always been a little lackluster, but their variety of monster choices and adaptability have always made up for it. Now, with Obsidian, that sort of changes: They have become the offensive Magic Meta for CL, however, they still have the remnants of their generalized team from before, with very powerful Untamed era cards supporting CL, Earth is arguably in the best spot 'overall' for Splinters for newcomers, offering a lot of versatility and power, and not being as punishing on failed predicts.

So how do I see the new Legendary Earth Summoner ending up?

MANA COST Speculation

The previous Legendaries have cost 3 Mana, 5 Mana, 7 Mana, and with Quix: 4 Mana. Going off of this pattern, I think we will either see a 4/6/8 Mana, to match up with Quix, or we will see 9 Manas to continue the trend of increasing Odd numbered. Because going to 9 would mean 4 Ability Summoners, I believe we are going to see a reset and the Legendaries are moving back to either 4 Mana or 8 Mana, depending on if they start with their Lower mana Summoners or higher. I will try to come up with 1 for each for DEFENDER/INVADER.

Because Quix is a lone Dragon Summoner, and there is ANOTHER Dragon Summoner coming in the Top 6, I believe that it is FAR more likely that these new summoners are the 8 Mana Variety

As a 4 Mana, I believe they would continue the format of Quix, in having 2 Abilities

As an 8 Mana summoner, I believe we will see 3 Abilities, like the 7 Mana summoners, but with ability spreads rivaling Llama and Yodin at minimum. If this is the case, this will be an absolutely wild set of airdrops (or should I say modern? yeah my jokes suck.)

Let's start with the offensive, Invader variant:

INVADER Speculation

4 Mana Version: God's Wrath

With 2 Abilities and 4 Mana, I think we would see an offensive Summoner that brings something different to the mix for Earth, something that empowers Earth offensively in a different way from Obsidian.

I think, with his name is Immortalis, it makes sense that he has Resurrect. Of course, we know how lore and names don't match abilities so I will probably be wrong here.

Still, I think this could be an awesome Enrage Summoner, which would make Earth's Orc Sergeant and other melee units particularly more deadly, bringing a new melee side to the Earth Splinter and allowing it to shine in its own summoner.

8 Mana Version: True Hunter

In the usual method of casting a wide net:

Let's see a different, modern variation of Prince Rennyn, Let's go with +1 Range, Resurrect, and True Strike

This would make for a new True Strike summoner ala Kitty, and would empower Earth's ranged with a powerful, ranged meta. Now that Ranged has access to Queen Mycelia and protect, as well as some decently armored monsters, a Ressurrect on a character named Immortalis seems fitting.

This fits with the Zeus aesthetic of a thrown thunderbolt, who's lightning was said to always strike true.

DEFENDER Speculation

4 Mana Version: Godly Protection

This is Zeus, idc what you say.

As such, a defensive version of this summoner would likely focus on Divine Protection and Resurrect, making it an odd summoner choice, but very similar to Lorna Shine in Life, who functions particularly well.

BONUS/ALTERNATIVE: If it were an 8 Mana, I would add on Immunity, to further play with the idea of God's protection and blessings.

8 Mana Version: Divine Retribution

So, in keeping with 'casting a large net', what's another fun idea?

Amplify, Resurrect, and Retaliate, here, I'm imagining that the character, Immortalis, provides protection in Resurrect and Amplify, and the Dog provides the retaliation, attacking alongside his allies.

This would make for another Melee centric build for Earth, and bring more value to a melee team, especially one featuring around things like Biceratops or Venari Knifer and Centauri Mage as a support.
