Anthrax usually produces a spore called Bacillus anthracis, which can survive in the soil for many years. It can be infected if animals or humans come into contact with this spore. It is mainly transmitted to humans through infected cattle, cows, sheep, goats, and their meat, milk, skin, or hair, or the risk of infection increases if the skin or meat of a dead animal is touched. This anthrax can spread quickly. Such as the long persistence of the spores. Spores damage the skin of animals or the environment in the soil and remain active in the environment for many years. They can be easily spread from air, water and soil. They can also be spread through the skin. For example, spores enter cuts or wounds. Which is called cutaneous anthrax. It is easily spread when the skin, hair or blood of an infected animal comes into contact with it.
Bacillus anthracis spores are very resistant. They survive in hot, cold or dry or humid environments. If it enters the respiratory tract, it becomes fatal. Its rapid and it can also cause rapid death. Vaccinate the animal. Cattle in the infected area should be vaccinated every year with the Anthrax Vaccine for Livestock. Dead animals should be managed. The body of the dead animal should not be left in the open and should be burned or buried in a deep hole. The skin or meat or blood of infected animals should never be touched. The farm sanitation system should be ensured.
Disinfectants must be used in animal farms. Soil and equipment must be cleaned. On the other hand, there is resistance in humans. People must be given the human anthrax vaccine. Those at risk, such as veterinarians, animal skin traders, meat traders, laboratory technicians, must be given the anthrax vaccine called AVA. Of course, some precautions must be taken. Wash hands thoroughly after contact with raw meat. Avoid eating meat from suspicious animals. Stay away from infected areas.
