Possum Magic 2017 Coin Collection

This is a cute coin collection to celebrate the Australian Children's Book, Possum Magic. It is a set of 8 coins.; 4 x $1 coins, 3 x $2 coins, and a commemorative 1 cent coin.
1 cent coins are no longer in circulation. It features in these kind of sets to add a level of collectability, nostalgia and uniqueness.

I remember seeing this book on the shelf when I was a child. It was released in 1983.

Possum Magic is a 1983 children's picture book by Australian author Mem Fox, and illustrated by Julie Vivas. It concerns a young female possum, named Hush, who becomes invisible and has a number of adventures. (Source: Amazon website)

The set is a good starter for young collectors.
The coins are cute and the economical, nicely printed, cardboard folder will protect the collection for some time. Especially, if they are kept in their nice fitting plastic sleeve.

A beautiful design, with a snippet of the story, written underneath the relevant coin. It gives it a more stimulating outcome than just being the coins. A feature to delight children (and those of us who are young at heart).

One of downsides to the coins, in my opinion, is that the art on the coin, is detailed, but the coins are so small. I think a use of a magnifying glass while perusing the coins would add more enjoyment. The coins are beatufiul nonetheless.
