Rest In Peace, Paul.

Paul Harrell was a "GunTuber" unlike all the rest of the firearm channel hosts on YouTube. I have linked to his content a few times before, and he would have been among the "Cool Content Creators" I've written about had I not mentioned him so often already.

Late last year, he announced he had cancer. He thought it had been caught in time for treatment, but it was worse than initially thought, and he has since handed over the channel to his brother and the team he worked with. On the announcement of his declining health, the YouTube gun community rallied to his support in order to ensure he would break the million subscriber mark in time to get the golden play button.

Yesterday, there was a brief announcement that his time was short, and today... well, this was posted.

Paul's content was less about hype and more about serious discussion. He approached every topic with just enough dry humor to keep it engaging, and exhibited a calm professionalism in a field dominated by loud showmen. I like a lot of those loud showmen, too, but Paul was special. In a way, as long as his content stays up, he still is. Check it out if you are even remotely interested in firearms.
