Modifying a Storebought Necklace

Behold the aftermath of necklace modification. Is the result good, bad, or somewhere in the middle? Whatever the case, let's take a look at the process!

I have an assortment of Swarovski crystals (high-quality Austrian glass bicone beads) that I had accumulated over the years. I also have some copper eye pins that closely match the same tone as this pre-manufactured piece.

I stacked a series of beads on a pair of eye pins, making sure I kept them in the same order. The result and assemblies were about an inch long, perhaps as much as 3 centimeters for those of you in the metric world.

I didn't think the necklace would drape properly with the added length, so I also took a few links out of the chain on either side of the pendant to reduce it back toward its original length again. The result is the image that started this post.
