Experimenting with CBD

I'm a little slow on catching up with the trends, but I finally pulled myself together and tried CBD oil in the form of Kava Chocolate, and I am pleased with the results.

The dark chocolate and mint julep chocolate bars are dairy-free, and each bar is molded into a grid of eight squares for easy division into 5mg doses of CBD. I found that for me, it takes a while for the CBD to kick in, but staging a couple 10mg doses during the day (once early, and once around lunch) seems sufficient for basic pain management.

As for the chocolate itself, it's pretty good by US retail standards. I wouldn't mind a darker blend, but it's reasonably rich. They are Rainforest Alliance Certified. You aren't buying these for the chocolate, obviously, but considering the price at $5/bar, you want something good.

I could find a cheaper CBD option, I'm sure, but it's a lot easier to remember to eat a couple squares of decent chocolate. I tried eating an entire bar a couple times, but that is neither cost-effective nor better at relieving pain as far as I could tell. I haven't noticed any adverse side effects, either.

CBD oil is in legal limbo here in the "Land of the Free," so while it is currently available, there is always the threat of federal or state clampdowns.
