Ode To My BLT

I am basking in the afterglow of eating the most luscious BLT (Bacon, Lettuce & (Summer) Tomato) sandwich. Mmmmmmmmmm

Sure I had some more fun art to stick to the front of my Hive refrigerator door, but my BLT bumped it to the side. Oh My ! They'll be time for more art LATER.

I had one Bolillo Roll left, soft and delicious. My Mom had given me a twisted Cherokee Purple tomato last Sunday, along with a handful of smaller Marglobe tomatoes that she grows, because they remind her of her Grandfather. She thought the twisted tomato might not yield much, but I didn't care, the Purples are my favorite and I knew I could do something with it, even if it turned out to only be bits in a salad. I cut it up first to see how much of it was usable and turns out, it was plenty for a fat BLT with a few bits left for something else later.

I put mayo on both sides of my bread, Duke's of course and then put a nice bed of lettuce on top of one slice, then the tomatoes. They were SO delightfully juicy. If this isn't a photo of pure summer joy, I don't know what is ! A generous amount of salt on top of the tomatoes..... and then...

.....I topped it off with a few fat pieces of perfectly rendered, thick cut bacon. I ask you, is there ANYTHING that bacon can't make better??? If there is, I don't really want to know. LOL! I would like to keep my delusion intact, that there is no such thing.

I took my time eating it, enjoying every bite, never wanting it to end.... the never ending sandwich.... that's what I wanted, but alas.....it was eventually gone, every last morsel.

It was such a happy thing, that I thought I should share... not my sandwich of course, but the pictures and the story about it. LOL !!!

I'm sorry that it's over, but I really REALLY enjoyed it.

I hope you have all been having a good week. It's Friday Eve and I am only working a half day tomorrow, so what is not to love about that !?

I hope you have some fun plans for yourself for this weekend. If you don't, I'm thinking you should make some now. Go ahead, you deserve it.
