Confronting The Sun:

Walking down this path to arrive at my destination.

The sun is burning my face and fuzzing my vision.

I covered my eyes and played a never-ending game of hide and seek with the sun.

Trying to hide in the shadow and sneak glances, like a thief in the night,

At that shining star, which makes me lose myself in its light,

Or in the obscure darkness seen while closing my eyes.

I gathered my courage, and with eyes wide open I confronted the sun.

And refused to give in, close or avert my eyes.

Everything around me started to fade,

And it seemed as if there was no one walking down this path with me.

In the end it is just me and the sun.
