The mine located in North Maluku has been operating since 1997. The mine is managed by one of the companies from Australia, Newcrest and indigenous Indonesian company, Antam. For approximately 18 years, the company has dredged more than 6 million Ounces of gold. It is estimated there are still 1.6jt ounces of gold left to be exhausted by 2020. Each year, they are able to produce about 270rb of gold ounces.
