Hello all Hive brothers and sisters and music lovers, I'm Zein Grind from the band @indonesiabersatu, returning to the weekly event #HiveOpenMic week 219 with the theme "Traditional Music" chosen by @ernesto6402. Wow, this theme is interesting to me. In this theme, I'm sharing a cover of a traditional song from Central Java called "Lir-ilir," infused with Punk Rock.

So, the song "Lir Ilir" doesn't have a clear composer as it has been a heritage song for a long time. Some cultural experts say that this is a verse created by Sunan Kalijaga, a spreader of Islam in Java through culture. But you know what? This song actually has an interesting philosophical meaning. "Lir Ilir" can be interpreted as being about life, nature, and the relationship between humans and their surrounding environment. This song also invites us to see the world with a more holistic view and to seek harmony between us and the universe.

For me, this song is not just a cultural heritage of Indonesia, but also contains deep philosophical meanings. However, more than that, this song also triggers sweet memories from a childhood full of joy and happiness. My childhood was colored by often humming the song "Lir Ilir" while playing with friends. This song takes me back to warm and joyful memories from childhood. Singing this song again in a punk rock cover brings a nostalgic feeling that flows so naturally, taking me back to a colorful past.

In the production process of this song, I tried to create something unique. With bass worked on with high energy and strong punk rock distortion, I aimed to give a fresh touch to this traditional song. For audio recording, I trusted the Dolphin 2-channel sound card for excellent quality. Meanwhile, drums and bass distortion effects were made using FL Studio software, and audio recording and editing were done using Adobe Audition CC.
