Never assume ...
Never Assume ...
Oscar Wilde: Never assume ... As it makes an ass out of U and me.
I really like that sentence as it rebuilds the word assume and really brings to light the consequences of assuming.
As you know selling hand crafted natural candles is part of my job... Thus I maintain a Facebook page to let people know about my activities...
It's very interesting, even if annoying, to see the reaction of some people there, seems that assuming is a common habit on facebook : Assuming this news is fake, assuming that guy is ignorant, etc ...
I recently had a comment from a green activist who claimed I had to remove "organic" from my post advertising my soy wax candles; Because soy, as he said, is full of GMO and does not respect the environment,...
Even when I explained and demonstrated the wax I buy comes from traceable bio sources, without any GMO at all, he didn't want to hear anything ... Which makes an ass out of him.
And I was very upset by seeing how stubborn he could be, which, in return, made an ass* out of me...
Point proven, assuming is indeed something to be avoided :) ....
