Freedive Moalboal | Reached 14.5m deep for our Line Dive
One of our activities during Kim's birthday get away last month was Line Diving. Well, I just thought why not? since we are both done with our basic courses and with been freediving for awhile now, then why not practice line diving? Seems easy to say but on the actual day when this happen, it was difficult for me.
Line Dive is a way to measure a freediver's efficiency by measuring the depth one can reach underwater. It can be done with fins or no fins and uses a line system.
To be honest, I was struggling on the first few try. Freediving head down first was hard. Equalization was hard. I don't know maybe because I was way overthinking it. I would then get discouraged after seeing doing it so effortlessly. 😒 (See his version here). Well, I finally followed his method and it got easy. 😜 And just like that, I gradually was able to reach to 10m (beyond that I closed my eyes) until I reached 14.5m.
It was a challenging experience and would definitely require more training. Well, perhaps in the future! As for now, I do want to enjoy freediving as a recreational activity and not as a competitive sport. But I still have plans on being able to reach 20m deep. Wish me luck on my next line dive training! As always, shout out to our ultimate diving guide .
