Freedive Catmon | Valley of Corals

After our awesome Hive Talks webinar last October 28, 2021, I and Kim ventured out to Catmon, Philippines to have a quick freediving adventure. I never knew Catmon was a unique place to dive so I was pretty excited for this one since Hive account@ybanezkim26 already mentioned to me before that there was a "valley" of corals here.

We went to Kuya Jom's Crib which was a 2 hour drive from the city via bus. We actually arrived around noon time and we were damn hungry. The crib was not serving food that day so we had to walk and ride to the nearest cafe which took us another 30 minutes but it was all worth it.

We went back to Kuya Jom's place with our tummies full which wasn't the ideal condition to freedive. 😂 To be honest, I was having a hard time freediving that day. Besides being full, I was trying on my newly bought diving weights which was a struggle,the current got stronger after an hour and the water's visibility got worse too.

We only got to swim for two hours! But I can't really complain. Things like this are expected since we never really know what the weather will be nor can we predict the conditions underwater. Still, it was a very memorable dive, a new diving place conquered, and I got to visit my underwater "friends".
