Freediving is Freedom

I say this because every time I'm underwater I can just be myself. Relax, content and one with nature. There is immense peace every time I hold my breath, dive a few meters down, steadily kick my fins, and admire the corals and fishes up close. And you just want it not to end....

I found freediving during that time I gave my job up and starting my life from scratch. And being underwater gently reminds me that I will be ok. Freediving is now that one thing that really makes me happy.

GEARS

Thanks to my earnings here on Hive, I was able to buy these gears that helped me achieve my mermaid goals 😊.

For my Leaderfins, I ordered the Ice Red Fiberglass from one of the famous dive shops here in Cebu - Badfish Dive Gear last July 2021 and it took a month before my fins arrived. Just in time for Hive account@ybanezkim26's birthday getaway.

My snorkel set was bought from VastBlue and I ordered red color to match the fins. I ordered my swimwear on Shein - an online shop and yes you guessed it right, I matched the colors with my fins and snorkel too. 😜

This time our videos and photos were taken using Kim's go pro hero 9 although I also brought with me my go pro hero 5 for backup. And him investing on his new toy was definitely worth it.

LOCATION

We had our freediving activity at two places... my happy place Panagsama, Moalboal and a new site I wanted to try in Alegria.

In Panagsama, Moalboal, I always book a room or a bedspace at the Pescador View. The cheapest one in the area but totally worth it. Have direct access to the beach!

In Alegria, we booked a room at Alegria Dive Resort. They manage the freediving site. There is a freediving fee of 600 pesos and an environmental fee of 150 pesos which I was unaware during the time of planning.

So I want to share to you guys some awesome photos taken by our very good friend and freediving guide Hive account@sabanalchristian during Kim's recent birthday getaway because... why not? This was the reason me and Kim always have a 4-day or 5-day freediving adventure.

I finally decided and put to action in creating a Freediving Community due to Hive account@ybanezkim26's persistency. A community where we could bring in other Freedivers around the world to join Hive, connect and share knowledge, stories, photos and videos about our passion in Freediving.
