BACK TO BASE // WORKED ON AN UPCYCLING PROJECT
_________________________________Hello Hivers____________________________________
It has been a month now that I had left my house to stay for a while at my hometown and it felt like a whole year. I was away from my machines, my fabrics, my projects and felt out of my comfort zone for good. My inspiration started to dry out the last weeks. The month I was at my hometown I had the opportunity to take a look at my old wardrobe on my parent's house and find some abandoned cloths of mine from past years. I do that once in a while, re-checking cloths that I had years to wear and give them a second chance to be used.
As soon as I finally came back home I had so many things on my mind to do, so many projects waiting to be done. Even though I had bought some new fabrics for my next creative projects I wanted first to save an old blouse that I found on my abandoned wardrobe from the trash.
I had so many years to wear that top. It was always kinda too tight at the sleeves that they do not allow me to move my hands easily so maybe that was the reasond that I never wear that. Although I love the texture of the fabric with all those threads all over.
The fabric is really light even if it seems warm. First thing I thought about it is that it would look much better as a summer top. Those threads would look much prettier if you can see more skin under them.
I copied the shape of a casual summer crop top that I wear and cut the two pieces.
Sewed the two sides together using the serger machine.
Cut the straps for my top...
...folded and sewed them.
Sewed the hem all around the top.
Sewed the straps on the top aaand...
...here!
Just an easy and fast upcycling but I love the texture of this fabric sooo much. I mean you can ever feel the texture by looking at it. Those threads actually feels really good on my skin. I am glad that I can finally wear this top and not throw it away.
Thank you for stopping by guys.
