How do you like your coffee? [ ESP/ ENG]

What hurts you sometimes makes you stronger—is that how the saying goes? I don’t know; all I do know is that, no matter how much I want to kick my habit, I just can’t. My morning coffee is my ecstasy, hahaha.

A few days ago, we woke up without coffee at my house; you can imagine what that was like. My mom didn’t want to get out of bed because just the thought of not having coffee made her feel terrible, and I could relate, thinking the same thing. This rarely happens to us; we’re always on top of buying it, but you know, there are times when it slips our minds.

Anyway, that day, we got up and went out to buy some. We stopped at a bakery near my house to have our morning coffee; this time, she wanted hers with milk, and I ordered mine black. 😄

I have to admit that black coffee at the bakery tastes different—it’s much stronger, with that bitter flavor, since I drink it without sugar. I’m already used to drinking the coffee we make at home that way, but the ones here are stronger. This is where I understand people when they say they can’t get used to drinking coffee without sugar. 😟

The good thing is that this doesn’t happen every day, hahaha; treating ourselves like this, though, is fair and necessary; we also ordered some rolls to go with the coffee, because, as they say, coffee without bread just isn’t the same. 😜

And what better way to enjoy this morning coffee than with good company—my favorite person, my beautiful mother.

SPANISH VERSION

Lo que te hace daño, a veces te fortalece, ¿es así el dicho? No lo sé, lo único que sí sé es que, por más que quiero dejar mi vicio, no puedo. Mi café por las mañanas es mi éxtasis, jajaja.

Hace unos días, amanecimos sin café en mi casa; se podrán imaginar esto. Mi mamá no se quería levantar porque el solo pensar que no tenía para hacer café le daba de todo, y yo me lo imaginé, pensando también lo mismo. Esto muy pocas veces nos pasa; siempre estamos pendientes de comprar, pero ya saben, hay momentos en que se nos escapa de las manos.

Igual ese día, nos levantamos y salimos a comprar. Nos metimos en una panadería cerca de mi casa a tomarnos nuestro cafecito por la mañana; ella, en esta ocasión, lo quiso con leche, y yo lo pedí solo, negrito. 😄

Les confieso que el café negro en panadería tiene otro sabor, es mucho más fuerte, con ese sabor amargo, puesto que yo me lo tomo sin azúcar; ya estoy acostumbrada a tomar el que hacemos en mi casa así, pero estos de afuera son más fuertes. Es aquí donde entiendo a las personas cuando dicen que no se adaptan a tomar el café sin azúcar. 😟

Lo bueno es que esto no es todos los días, jajaja; el darnos este gusto, igual, es justo y necesario; también pedimos unos pancitos para acompañar el café, porque, como dicen por allí, café sin pan no gusta. 😜

Y qué mejor forma de tomar este cafecito en la mañana que con una buena compañía, mi persona favorita, mi madre hermosa.
