SOMETIMES FOLLOW YOUR INSTINCT
sometimes it is okay to follow your instinct. It's the right one most times.
I heard this story the first time I resumed the tertiary institutions, it was part of the orientation given to us to take charge of our instinct as it is what keeps us on track, it is the only thing that wants the best for us.
At my school, every graduation they produce at least 10 first-class candidates, and sometimes more or less. with a lot of benefits.
Something happened between two friends back then before I get to dream about going to my school it was some sort of betrayal, maybe if the other one had followed this thing called instinct maybe he wouldn't have been betrayed, or maybe not.
Two friends happen to be close, they have been doing a good job right from when they started, they read together and do all things together, and now it is their final level.it easy access to barge the first-class degree since they have been doing well from the beginning.
But you know sometimes not everyone wants to share the top with another, they were friends though but that does not mean it is okay for them to share the top seats.
And so one of them began to lie about having issues at home and instead preparing well for an exam that even the date is not known.
Why the other one was relaxed, calm, and not bothered about reading but instead worried about the other friend having issues.
To cut the long story short the one using issues as an excuse has been using the whole time reading and studying for an exam not known date and persuaded the other one about when the exam is two weeks close they would get to read together moreover it is something they have been doing all these while and it has been working well for them, he was able to confuse his friend though instinct was trying to keep his friend on track but one thing about betrayal is it comes from close ones.
And so two weeks to exam they read together, went ahead to write the exam and after few weeks result was out.
The one with home issues excuse was able to barge a first-class GP(grade point )and the other couldn't on the day of convocation. He got the best graduating student and was offered a job opportunity that day.
Everything seemed right and nice for him,his friend on the other hand could not get the first-class Gp and was unable to barge the best graduating student honor and its privilege, was surprised how his other friend got everything they had both wished for but then never saw betrayal
Not until after so many years did he get to know all these while his friend had been lying to him and instead reading in secrets, betraying him of their friendship.
Maybe if he had followed his instinct he would have been able to counter his friend's plans or maybe not.
This is just one story told to us as part of orientation to be careful of friends and sometimes let us know it is okay to follow our instincts.
