My Orange Dude
Meet my Garfield. I know he's not as fat as the real one, but they have the same color, don't they? I named him Munggi, but sometimes I call him Chumong. And I feel great whenever he purrs when he hears his name. 😊
He used to be a stray cat, roaming in the neighborhood with no permanent home. When I saw him in our backyard, as a kitten, I felt pity, so I fed him and finally took him in. From then on, I have kept him as my pet.
Having a pet is indeed therapy. We have dogs, too, and they are my happy pill. But I think it's really true that cats are introverts' best friends. Well, I love our dogs too, but they're too energetic for me, so I prefer to be with Munggi most of the time.
MY PAINTING BUDDY
During the worldwide lockdown when the CoVid pandemic first strike, I must admit I didn't get bored because I have tons of things to do like reading books, writing stories, and practicing painting. Fortunately, my buddy was willing to help... yeah, he just slept the entire time I was painting, but it's fine with me. At least, I got a silent companion.
MY PURRFECT EDITOR
Munggi likes to cuddle, and he doesn't mind what I'm doing. He would nestle whenever he sees me sitting somewhere, whether I'm writing a story, or even when I'm reading some books. He takes a chance to sit beside me and stay warm as he sleeps. In fact, there was even a time when he got too excited about what I wrote. He helped me out typing when I left my computer for a minute.
MY FURRY NURSE
Cats sure like being warm. I was sick once, and perhaps he knew I was feeling cold, so he lay down beside me so that I could be warmed. He did that for the entire period that I was sick in bed.
In our country, some believe that pets take away their owners' sickness, and they get ill on their owner's behalf. I just hoped I didn't make him sick when I recovered from my fever.
Pets are treasures to pet lovers; we should love them the way they love us. They may not know how to say "I love you," but their actions are more than enough to express it.
