Walk by the Pool

Here's a bit of a trivia before I start on my story for today. I used to work at this hotel more than ten years ago. We never really got around to touring the entire hotel back then. I was recently back as a hotel guest.

I noticed that a few areas of the hotel have undergone renovations. As such, I found myself rather unfamiliar with the new look of the poolside area. Still, I thought it was worth checking out, as my daughter intended to use the pool the following morning.

I climbed this set of stairs thinking it would lead me to a deck that overlooks the Manila Bay. However, I soon discovered that it was the wrong way.

Nope, that was a dead end. It was probably a way for staff to access the area for cleaning of sorts.

For all it's worth, I got to take this lovely angle. So then I knew I would need to backtrack and try the other way I saw at the other side of the pool.

The renovated health club. It sure looks different from what I remembered. The hotel offers membership for those who want to use the pool regularly.

The long hallway I walked on to reach the deck that overlooks the Manila Bay.

A short climb took me here.

I could spot this side from our room on the 15th floor. So I really set out to check it out.

There's the view overlooking Manila Bay, where the sunset looks perfect. It was still too early for sunset at that time.

More of the view on the right. There are sitting areas around. Perhaps the hotel holds special events by the poolside.

I'd say it's a perfect place to hangout, if the sun is not out. It's also perfect for viewing the Manila Bay sunset.

It's time to head back to the hotel and the comfort of my room. I'll leave you with this lovely view from the end of this sun deck hallway.
