Valugan Boulder Beach, Batanes (March 2019)
According to a marker at the site, 'Valugan' means East. This place is a sacred fishing port for local fishermen. Traditional fishing season is from March to May. The boulders are said to have come from volcanic eruptions dating as far back as 325 B.C.My daughter created this boulder tower during our visit.
The whole beach is practically lined up with boulders; hence, the name. For more photos and stories, visit my blog here.
