San Carlos Borromeo Church, Mahatao, Batanes (March 2019)

The Philippines has a number of baroque churches that fall under the UNESCO World Heritage list. This church was originally built in 1787 but it was made of light materials. After a strong typhoon destroyed it in 1872, this new design was rebuilt in 1873. Improvements have been made over the years. In 2001, the church has been conferred as a National Cultural Heritage Treasure by the NCCA.
