GIRACOIN !!!!!!! IS IT A SCAM?

Recently I was invited to a seminar in Nigeria. It was about promoting and investing in a so called Swiss cryptocurrency called GIRACOIN, created by a Swiss financial group called Gira Financial Group Ag. The speaker was a man from the U.K named Mr Ian Driscoll. The seminar was targeted to get people to buy GIRACON tokens and it also had very generous affiliate programs.

They offered several investment packages with tiers and levels ,which the least was a starter plan , 50 Euros for 500 Giracoin tokens. You could get a package by wiring or depositing the amount in a Local account which the account details where displayed on a slide. Mr Ian also talked about how the company was made up of 4 foundations which were,

1. Giracoin.com which is the digital currency itself, 2) Girapay.com which is the web wallet where your Giracoins are mined and secured, 3) Girabuy.com which is the marketplace where merchants accept Giracoin payments, and 4) Giraexchange.com which is their trading platform to exchange Giracoin into other currencies.

When I asked whether the coin was tradable in the exchange platforms , he said that since Giracoin is a very new player in the cryptoworld, Giracoin is not yet available in other exchange sites other than cryptocoinexchange.com and their internal dashboard where you can mine and transfer coins to other wallets. They plan to launch an ICO early 2018 after all their other systems are in proper place in order to boost their market value right from the beginning, which is for me an excellent strategy for them not to turn out like the ordinary worthless coins out there. This was when I became a bit suspicious.

They told us how they had already open a head office in Abuja , the Nigerian capital and how they hard offices in countries like India and Pakistan.
I wasn’t convinced so I went to do some research on the coin and on the few review sites I found , it was labeled a ponzi scheme and a scam.
