I’ve Stopped Explaining Myself

It's amazing how much energy we can spend on things that don't truly serve us. For the longest time, I completely relate to that feeling of needing to explain myself constantly. I used to feel this intense pressure to justify why I didn’t go out to that event, or why I was feeling particularly tired, or even why I hadn’t "done more" with my day or my life according to some invisible checklist. It was an exhausting cycle of defense.

But something beautiful has shifted. Now, when those moments arise, I simply say, "I needed rest," or sometimes, I say nothing at all. It's a revelation, really, to understand that not everything in our lives needs to be meticulously justified or validated for someone else. Sometimes, a choice or a feeling or a personal boundary just is. It exists. And that's enough.

The incredible thing I've discovered is that peace gets louder when you stop defending it. When you release the need to explain and just own your choices, a profound sense of calm settles in. It's truly liberating.
