This poem reminded me of two things. The first is a silly character from a video game called Final Fantasy IX (Nine) ;P called Steiner. He's a night. He's a goofball. He clanks around in his armour, and worries about the princess he is meant to protect. He worries about her so much, he comes along willingly when she gets abducted, because he doesn't really trust the kidnappers to look after her properly.
fragile in armor
And to all extents, fragile in any costume or outfit - the business man in his suit, the woman in her red dress, powerful, empowered, - full of statements and intent, but ultimately trembling behind a tenuous sense of agency.
The second thing that it reminded me of was a song called Feint by a band called Epica, which has the lyrics:
Every beat of your heart tore the lies all apart
Made foundations quiver
Every wave in the lake caused the porcelain to break
And I shiver...
That song and that album is going to be something that I am going to write about in the future. :)
