Happy Pi Day

Today (3/14/2020) is Pi Day. Yesterday a Wall Street Journal website article had the headline: "For Math Fans, Nothing Can Spoil Pi Day—Except Maybe Tau Day." I am not sure what the article's point was because it starts off talking about Pi Day and then requires a subscription to read the full article. No thank you. Especially if that article was going to spout the propaganda of tauday.com.

Every honest person knows Pi Day is the day to celebrate. The U.S. Congress made Pi Day a national holiday in 2009 and the misguided Tau Day supporters have been crying ever since, literally. Check archive.org's tauday.com snapshots if you don't believe it.

The Tau Day supporters got a .com site in 2010 and have been trying to make June 28th as commercialized as Christmas or Valentine's Day. As we celebrate today we all must remember that you can't put a price on mathematical constants. Because...Crap. Never mind. 7-eleven has $3.14 pizzas. Pi Day is now like getting a free Slurpee on July 11. We've been sold out.
