My dad doesn't give up, and although it's complicated, he continues working so that some of the lemon plants grow well and others can continue producing

These past few days I've been quite busy catching up on some things I had to do, and well, staying home today made me realize how nature, like life, sometimes gives and sometimes takes away. These photos I took a few minutes ago are a perfect example of what I mean. My dad was telling me that the lemon tree had practically dried up completely, despite all his efforts with some natural remedies that had been recommended to him to try and save it. In the short time we had grown it, we had enjoyed some good harvests.

My dad practically left it without any branches, except for two at the top, but those are drying up too. The ones he's already cut are nearby, but well, hope springs eternal, and we have to wait for the natural remedies to work, or else, with all our sadness, we'll have to cut it down completely.

Although my dad had already planted other lemon trees in another part of the yard—in this case, two—they're close to each other. They're quite distinct; one is tall and the other is shorter. The taller one also had a surprise at the top: its first lemon, which is now growing. So, that's where the reference to nature comes in: sometimes it takes away, and other times it gives. But the important thing is not to give up in the face of the inevitable challenges that will surely arise on this difficult path of farming.

He hasn't just sat around waiting for a miracle; on the contrary, he's done his part, even planting two more lemon trees than the ones I have in the plastic cups. It's worth noting that these are a bit bigger than the ones we usually see. My dad is amazing because he never stops insisting on growing lemon trees. He was advised to drink lemons every morning on an empty stomach to improve his health. They're hard to find, and those who have them don't give them away, so having a few plants at home is an excellent idea that his body will thank him for.
