Something simple but delicious
Hello, friends, food lovers, and community members! Wherever you are in the world, I hope you are doing well and enjoying quality time with your loved ones.
Today, I would like to share a very simple but delicious dessert recipe that you can easily make with just a few basic ingredients. Also, iI just made it my way with available ingredients, so I haven't figured out what name for this recipe.
Ingredients:
- 10 slices of spiral loaf (round-shaped white bread) - you can also use a normal loaf of bread.
- 1/2 cup Dalda vegan butter
- 2-3 tablespoons sugar
- 4 cardamom pods
- 1 pinch (approximately 25) saffron threads
- 7-8 cashews
- 1 tablespoon pistachios
- 1 tablespoon pecans
- 7 almonds
- 1 tablespoon dried coconut
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup or any other syrup
Procedure
Step 1: Prepare the Syrup
Dissolve the sugar in 1/2 cup of water.
Add the saffron to the sugar water and bring it to a boil.
Include crushed cardamom pods or 2 pinches of cardamom powder, and cook until the mixture turns into a sticky syrup.
Step 2: Prepare the Stuffing
Roast all the nuts in 1/2 teaspoon of Dalda vegan butter or coconut oil.
Once the nuts are roasted, add dried grated coconut and cook until it becomes crispy. Remove from heat.
Allow the roasted mixture to cool, then chop the nuts finely using a knife.
Saving 1 tbsp crushed nuts, add maple syrup to the nut mixture and mix thoroughly until it forms a slightly sticky consistency. Set aside.
Step 3: Shape the Dessert and Fill the Stuffing
Place the bread slices on a cutting board.
Use a wine glass or cookie cutter to remove the brown edges from the bread. If using a normal loaf, cut the bread in the same way.
Flatten the bread slices using a rolling pin.
Place a portion of the stuffing in the center of each bread slice.
Using a few drops of water, dampen the edges of the bread slice.
Place another slice of bread on top of the stuffed one and press the edges firmly with your fingers to seal, creating patties.
Step 4 final result
Heat a pan and melt some Dalda vegan butter.
Place all the patties in the pan and cook on low heat, using some more Dalda and flipping carefully until both sides are golden brown.
Once done, transfer them to a plate and drizzle syrup over the patties.
Finally, sprinkle with the reserved crushed nuts.
At the end, I roasted those brown edges from bread slices and coated them in leftover sugar syrup and decorated the dessert. You can use your ideas.
Enjoy your delicious treat!
Thank you very much
