Gadisar Lake, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India

Every year whenever I go to Rajasthan, I definitely visit Gadisar Lake. The reason for coming here every year is the atmosphere here and the sunset here. When the sun sets in Gadisar, it looks no less than magic. And if there are clouds in the sky here, the view becomes so spectacular that it becomes difficult to describe the feeling in words. Gadisar Lake is located in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, although it remains very hot almost all the time of the year, but in the last months of the year, the weather here becomes so pleasant that one feels like staying here.

Talking about history, King Rawal Jaisal of Jaisalmer had built this lake in 1156, later in 1367 Gadsi Singh got it renovated. This lake is artificial, and it was constructed to provide water to the city of Jaisalmer. The source of this lake is Indira Gandi canal, so this lake never dries up. The relation of this lake has been with the Hindu kings, therefore all the kings of their era had put small umbrellas shape forts here, which are still present today.

Every year the amount of tourist is increasing here in winter, for the entertainment of tourist there is local clothes market, local food restaurant, camel ride and boating facility. If anyone ever wants to go then the best time is December and January. So that's it for now...
