My Hive Pizza Nomination March 2025 [Eng – Span]

Greetings and happy weekend to all pizza lovers out there! Today, once again thanks to the monthly initiative by @hivetrendig, I’m happy to introduce you to @iriswrite—a Cuban writer I had the pleasure of discovering through @maylink (my nominee for November 2024). 🙌🏽

She joined this ecosystem thanks to the family bond she shares with @maylink, and because both of them were already creating content in Web2. It was only a matter of time before she felt inspired to start publishing here on Hive—a space that has allowed her to expand her cultural knowledge by actively participating in various communities, initiatives, and by constantly discovering new things every day. 🤩

She also shared with me that in Cuba, the world of crypto is still largely unknown. But she loves it! Because during her time here, it has given her countless opportunities to talk about all the things she enjoys:

Traditional cooking inspired by her mother, handcrafted scented and decorative candles (which she makes herself), and her way of sharing how she “moves through life with light” (her personal life motto). She also explores art, literature, natural medicine, her beloved plants, and a wide range of social and personal growth topics.📚

Although her interests and hobbies are quite diverse, she spends most of her time writing about all sorts of subjects. Whether the topic has a sociological or psychological background, or stems from personal experiences or reflections, writing is a passion she fully embraces. She always finds a good moment to jot down the ideas that come to her mind—something she sees as essential, since every moment carries its own energy, and that, for her, is what matters most. ✍️

Something fascinating I learned about her is how spiritual she is. She has a deep love and respect for bucolic traditions and ancestral spirituality—a mindset and energy she brings into her everyday life as a professional. Iris holds a degree in Art History, a Master's in Cultural Development, and works as a curator, researcher, and art critic across various artistic expressions.

Now, when it comes to video games, that’s an entirely unfamiliar world for her! She hasn’t spent time learning how to play them (yet), but who knows—maybe one day she’ll surprise us with a review.

I also discovered that she studied her profession without any previous knowledge or family influence. For her, it was a total revelation—something that not only changed her life but gave her a deeper understanding of life and existence from a more analytical perspective.

When it comes to her favorite art pieces 🖼️, she immediately chooses works from the Romantic period and genre painting, such as La Liberté guidant le peuple, Le Radeau de la Méduse, and Des glaneuses. These masterpieces captivate her—not just for their scale, but for how they’ve been treated over time, and what they represent to her: her love and recognition of art as a powerful expression of human emotion.

In architecture, she’s particularly drawn to French styles, especially from the Romantic and Gothic periods. Cathedrals are her favorite—despite her favorite novel being The Name of the Rose, it was actually the architecture that made her fall in love with Ken Follett’s Pillars of the Earth. 🏰📖

And of course, Iris doesn’t just live for art—like many of us, she’s also a huge pizza fan! 🍕 She’s enchanted by the smell and flavor, whether it's a soft, fluffy Cuban pizza or a crispy Neapolitan one. She enjoys toppings like veggies, olives, and Teruel ham—but her absolute favorite? One topped with cheese, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and ham, finished with that signature basil taste. Paired with a red wine she once had in a café in Saint-Émilion… absolutely unforgettable. 🍷

However, her sensitive nose can also detect when a pizza—no matter how crispy—contains sheep cheese, which she dislikes and is allergic to.

As you can tell, Iris is a cultured woman who never tires of learning new things. At the same time, I find her incredibly versatile, with a wide range of skills that allow her to create and share meaningful content, both in her native Cuba and here on Hive. I’m sure her contributions to Hive Pizza will bring great value and insight to us all.✨

Saludos y feliz fin de semana para todos los amantes de la pizza. Hoy nuevamente, gracias a la iniciativa que @hivetrendig nos invita mes a mes, me contenta poder presentarles a @iriswrite, una cubana que pude conocer por @maylink (mi nominada para el mes de noviembre 2024). 🙌🏽

Ella llegó a este ecosistema gracias a esa amistad familiar que ambas poseen y gracias a que también redactaban contenido en Web2, así que solo era cuestión de tiempo para que se motivase a crearlo aquí en Hive. Un espacio que le ha permitido nutrir su cultura gracias a que diariamente participa en diversas comunidades, iniciativas y también por todo el conocimiento que aquí diariamente descubre. 🤩

También me comentó que en Cuba el mundo cripto todavía es muy desconocido, a ella le encanta, porque en el tiempo que tiene aquí, este le ha ofrecido muchas posibilidades para hablar de todo lo que a ella le gusta:

La cocina tradicional inspirada en su madre, las velas aromáticas y decorativas que realiza de forma artesanal, para también dar a conocer “cómo transita con luz su día a día” (su lema de vida), el arte, la literatura, la medicina natural, sus amadas plantas y también diversos temas con enfoque social y de crecimiento personal. 📚

Y aunque sus gustos y pasatiempos son bastante variados, la mayor parte de su tiempo lo invierte en escribir sobre cualquier tema. Sea de trasfondo sociológico, psicológico, con alguna vivencia o motivo, es un hábito que le apasiona y del que siempre encuentra un buen momento para anotar las ideas que vienen a su mente (esto es algo que también considera ideal, porque cada instante trae sus vibras y eso para ella es lo más importante). ✍️

Algo muy curioso que pude conocer de ella es que es una mujer muy espiritual. También posee un profundo amor y admiración por todo lo que es la tradición bucólica y la espiritualidad ancestral. Una mentalidad y energía que la acompañan en su día a día como profesional Lic. en Historia del Arte, Maestra en Desarrollo Cultural, curadora e investigadora, crítica del arte en todas sus manifestaciones.

Ahora, si hablamos de los videojuegos, esto es un mundo totalmente desconocido para ella, ya que por los momentos no invierte parte de su tiempo en aprender a jugarlos (pero quién sabe si algún día se anime y nos traiga una reseña).

Ya de su profesión pude descubrir que la estudio sin tener ningún tipo de conocimiento previo o conexión familiar. Por lo que para ella esta fue todo un descubrimiento que, más allá de cambiar su vida por completo, le brindó una comprensión de la vida y la existencia desde una perspectiva más analítica.

Si hablamos de sus piezas favoritas 🖼️, ella, sin pensarlo mucho, elige las del período romántico y también de género, como: “La Liberté guidant le peuple”, “Le Radeau de la Méduse” y “Des glaneuses”. Obras que, más allá de poder haber conocido, le fascinan por sus dimensiones, la forma en que este tipo de arte ha sido tratado y por lo que significan para ella: su amor y reconocimiento del arte como un medio de expresión a los sentimientos del ser humano.

Igualmente, en la arquitectura le fascina la francesa, en especial las de época romántica y gótica. Especialmente las catedrales porque, aunque su novela favorita es “El nombre de la rosa”, estas le hicieron amar el libro de Ken Follett (Los pilares de la tierra). 🏰📖

Y como no solo de arte vive, Iris, al igual que nosotros, es amante de la pizza 🍕; un plato que le fascina por su inconfundible olor y sabor. Sea cubana (suave y esponjosa) o una crujiente napolitana. También le encantan con verduras, aceitunas y jamón de Teruel. Aunque la que más le gusta es una cubierta de queso, lechuga, tomates cherry y jamón con ese sabor típico de la albahaca, acompañado del vino tinto que pudo probar en un café de Saint Emilion, para ella es simplemente inolvidable. 🍷

Sin embargo, también “por el olor” puede identificar cuándo una pizza por más crujiente que sea tiene queso de oveja (un ingrediente que no le gusta y que además le genera reacciones alérgicas).

Como pueden ver, Iris es una mujer con mucha cultura, pero que nunca se cansa de aprender algo nuevo, sin embargo, también la considero muy versátil porque posee muchas habilidades que le permiten aprender y realizar una gran variedad de actividades, para compartirlas tanto en su Cuba natal como aquí en Hive. Por lo que estoy segura de que su aporte aquí en Hive Pizza será de gran valor y aprendizaje para todos nosotros. ✨
