David Carpin - The Oxford Experiment With 15 Minute Cities
15 minute cities or 20 minute neighbourhoods are a dangerous experiment that is pushed by many progressive politicians in many areas of the UK and beyond.
The idea sounds idyllic, to make sure that everything you need is available within 15 mins walk or cycle ride from your front door.
But it is being driven by the green lobby who are pushing for net zero and It is an attack on the motorist.
Oxford, The City of Dreaming Spires, is famous the world over for its University and place in history, for over 800 years, it has been a home to royalty and scholars and now it is one of the first cities in the UK to trial this measure where it is proposed that the metropolis will be divided up into zones and each household will receive 100 passes to allow them to travel outside of their area.
Anyone driving outside of their zone without the required paperwork will be fined £70 using a network of cameras.
David Carpin joins us as the Reform Party candidate for Henley and the local council, he tells us what lies behind this scheme and why the elected assembly have ignored local opposition and why the Reform Party are the main political opposition to this.
