Teaching Ledger Lines using Recycled Materials
This week, I'm gonna introduce the concept of ledger lines. Using disposable chopsticks and toothpicks only! Inspired by Colourful Keys.
First, choose a clef. Then, place the staff line (chopsticks) to give each alphabet a "place to sit". Lastly, ask the students where do the extra alphabets sit? Use toothpicks to give them a place!
Materials:
1 paper size A4 print alphabets
1 paper print clefs
Disposable chopsticks
Toothpicks
Ta-da!!!
Every alphabet must have a seat!
Either higher up in the attic... Or lower ground in the basement!
Materials, simple and easy to get.
I hope you can try and show it to your students!
