Putin recognizes the independence of Luhansk and Donetsk - Bleak Times Ahead

On this Monday, 21st of February, Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that the declaration of acknowledgment of independence of the territories of Luhansk and Donetsk.

Luhansk and Donetsk have been at a civil war against the government in Kiev for a long time now, because of the fact that their region is Russian majority.

It is clear that this is another Crimea situation, where a large portion of Russian speakers declare independence, allegiance to Moscow and then Putin comes in and annexes the area for the Russian Federation.

This is specially obvious as Putin is sending troops as parts of a "peace-keeping" operation inside both areas.
Whilst in the eyes of the Kremlin and the self-proclaimed government of the separatist Luhansk and Donetsk this may be a completely legitimate action, it's likely that the rest of the international community is to see this as an invasion and at worse - an act of war.

It is only a matter of time and patience for us all to see where this will go.
My wishes are for peace and for the continue stability we had enjoyed for so many years in the region, but the mass of 150 thousand Russian troops surrounding Ukraine's borders is something to be most definitely worried about.

War never changes. And let's hope we don't have to see it again.
