Drillin' - Posting a tune a day in 2022! - (#2 of 365)

Track number two is called Drillin'. As the name suggests, it features the sound of drills. One morning, a Sunday morning, a relaxing morning, I was enjoying my sleep, when at around 8.30am there came the sound of pneumatic drills outside my bedroom window. Needless to say, I was not amused.

Rather than direct my anger at the drillers, I decided to put the opportunity to good use. Grabbing a condensor microphone I positioned it at an open window, and recorded the drills and accompanying street noise.

Twisting this sound with oscillating filters, reverbs and delays created a great sound bed for stuttering beats and bass lines, which I hope translates my feelings towards a disturbed Sunday morning sleep!
