Resin Vek
Description
The Resin Vek prowls through the depths of Okko's marshlands, its scaled form a perfect blend of predator and plant. Living vines protrude from between its scales, constantly reaching and twisting as it moves. These tendrils secrete a potent resin that serves both as a weapon to drain victims health, capable of hardening instantly upon contact with its prey. During their molting cycle, Resin Veks shed their old scales and vines in a display of natural renewal. This process leaves them vulnerable but afterwards emerges a stronger creature, to weaken their foes through their toxic resin. The substance seeps into victims' bodies, draining their strength and eventually hardening their muscles until movement becomes impossible.
These creatures have mastered the art of turning the marshland itself into a weapon. They create pools of concentrated resin that enfeeble any who dare to wade through them, while their vines can deliver a precise strike of condensed resin that condemns opponents to a gradual paralysis.
