想提升东马的主权，是不大可能的。

首先我们要清楚认识到，大部分在争取所谓东马自主权的人都是華番，还处在部落时代的山番对国家主权是没有概念的。对山番而言，生活就是有竹筒饭吃，有米酒喝，回家可以做爱，就这样简单，无需要太多。

东马華番认为，行动党出卖了它们，这有其道理。但是来届大选完全不投行动党，对争取主权也没有什么影响。要修宪就需要得到 2/3 国会议员赞同，东马两州所有议席加起来，是绝对不够的。

马来亚政党是不会实际行动支持东马主权提升的，那样会削弱马来亚的实力与地位。
