Les Lions de la Téranga (The Lions of Teranga) of Senegal has in times past, made it a habit of churning out some really brilliant footballers, both on the national and international stages. This habit is one that has continued even after the days of El-Hadji Diouf. This year, the success of Liverpool had a lot to do with the grit and goals pumped in by their quick-fire Senegalese International, Sadio Mane.
In Africa, Senegal is a serious footballing nation that has made it to 15 AFCON tournaments, ending as runner-ups once. The winner title still eludes them. This is something they are keen on correcting though, this is why the nation see Egypt 2019 is perfect platform to cement their position as a true African football powerhouse.
They have got the talents, but they will be hoping that the club form and success of their talisman rubs off on them. They'd surely need that.
