A short Drive over the Thunder Bridge

After yesterday's photo op over the Old Bridge, today we continue our drive over the second bridge in my city, Thunder Bridge, which we otherwise call New Bridge, but its official name is Thunder Bridge. It was given its name in 2011 by a city decision, at the suggestion of the association of war veterans of the 2nd Guards Brigade Thunder, as a tribute to their role and contribution in the Homeland War. On August 4, 1995, members of Thunder crossed it to liberate Banovina in Operation Storm, so the bridge had a special symbolism in their wartime activities.

Its name is no coincidence — the Thunder Bridge serves as a kind of memorial to the veterans and events of the war.

This is a concrete slab that was installed in 2011 with its very symbolic name - Thunder Bridge!

On the way down from Thunder Bridge, where we drive over the Kupa River, we come to a roundabout, and after passing through it, the road continues towards Zagreb. Very shortly after Thunder Bridge, a new bridge over the Odra River was built last year. I already took photos of it while it was being built, I haven't taken photos of the drive over it yet, so I have to do that too.
