Winter is Coming | Elfin Cove

We are back in Elfin Cove as we liked it so much last time. It's very cosy and protected from all weather, making it a really good option for the typhoon that's rolling through at the moment. In my last post, I mentioned that we had a little party; well, this time they invited us again, which was very nice. In the winter, Elfin Cove has only five residents and is mostly a place for fishermen to fuel up and drop off their fish.

As we are pretty slow enjoying all these little places and really getting to know the locals even going hunting with them which was a lot of fun. We are definitely noticing the temperature changes with nights at 3 degrees Celsius and the weather has definitely changed drastically, its now normal to have a storm roll through every week or so.

We do have access to power on the dock, which is great since we're running out of power for the first time due to having only cloudy days.

If you look at the scale below, you can see that the darker it is, the worse it gets, and where the white dot is—that's where we are—so it's definitely not a good time to be on the ocean. The swell was forecasted at 10m—yep, that's the highest I've ever seen on a forecast. What can I say? Don't mess around with the North Pacific. Time to wait out this storm before we traverse further South.
