Easter buns
I would like to show you some buns that i made for Easter. Also i had help from my mom.
Ingredients
- 8 eggs
- 500 gr. sugar
- 250 gr. butter
- 1.200 gr. plenty flour
- 1 cup of milk
- 3 vanilla powder
- 1.5 teaspoon ammonia
Tip: all of the ingredients have to be at room temperature for at least 30 minutes.
First, separate the egg whites from the yolks in different utensils.
Beat the egg whites until it becomes a fluffy meringue.
Αdd the sugar to the yolks and beat in the mixer until well blended.
Τake a large enough bowl / pot and add 1 kg of flour making a small puddle in the center.
Into the bowl add the melted butter, the eggs, the milk with the ammonia, vanilla powder and mix them together.
Warm milk with the ammonia. When we add the ammonia to the milk we mix it very well over the bowl with the remaining ingredients because the ammonia makes the milk inflates. At the same pot i melt the butter.
Stir until the flour disappears into the mixture. Αdd flour, stirring constantly until the dough no longer sticks to the hands.
Spread the dough on a clean surface and knead to shape the buns giving them a shape.
I put some oil on the table so the buns won't stick on the table.
Also i used one more egg on top of the buns, to give them a shinning surface by adding some water into the egg and mix it well.
Also i tried to create a bunny which is not bad.
4 pans came out in total.
180 Celcius for 15-20 minutes on air.
