Welcome to the second edition of Hive Learners Creative Sunday I was too busy last weekend and couldn't participate but I enjoyed reading other members' content about creative Sunday.

Today, I will be spending a few minutes in the kitchen and I hope you enjoy hanging out with me there as well.

I intend to make vegetable stew for rice, I was inspired to prepare this after having a conversation through the comment section on a post with another Hive member.

He expressed his displeasure for vegetable stew having water in it, he loves it for swallow meals like pounded yam and others but not for rice. He usually likes it dry which is the best for rice, some people struggle with making dry vegetable soup so I decided to share how it is done in this article.

There are lots of vegetables and I will be using two types for my soup. They are bitter leaves and fluted pumpkins, these two leaves have lots of nutritional value and I always enjoy having them together or separately. They have a long list of benefits to the human body and you will fall in love with these vegetables if you can spare a few minutes to read about them online.

Recipe for the vegetable stew.

Procedure:

The bitter leaf is bitter just like the name implies so it requires washing, you have to wash it thoroughly to reduce or completely take away its bitterness. The cooking can start when that has been achieved, let's get to work.

The first step is heating the oil, it shouldn't get too hot to avoid choking yourself or the oil catching fire.

(The firefighters might not be anywhere near your location so be careful).

I added the sliced onions and allowed them to fry while heating the oil.

I poured my blended pepper into the oil when it was hot.

I added seasoning and salt immediately.

The next thing I did was add the diced meat and meat, the meat has been cooked with seasoning before now.

It is important you cook your meat first with seasoning to make it tasty and healthy for consumption.

I covered the stew and allowed it to fry for a few minutes. When I am satisfied with the frying, I added my rinsed fluted pumpkin first and added the bitter leaf two minutes later.

I allowed it to cook for another two minutes and that was all, the vegetable stew is ready for consumption.

One thing a lot of us do wrongly is overcooking vegetables, it kills the nutrient and deprives us of the perfect taste.

The vegetable soup as you can see is dry and served with rice, thanks for staying with me.

There is a video attached to this post to help you understand the process better, I hope you enjoyed watching it.
