Newbies Initiative Task6: playing blockchain games

Hello hivians

Last week, I learnt about blockchain games through the newbies- initiative. Before now, I thought blockchain games were hard to play but a big thanks to @ksam, who took his time to explain the games. His explanations were so simple and easy to understand that I came to realise blockchain games are actually fun and easy to play and become easier as you play them

For task 6, I will be answering some questions about blockchain games.

Mention 2 features that make blockchain games different from other games.

Blockchain games are like normal video games we play but they are built on blockchain. Blockchain games differ from normal videos game in some features:

• you earn can earn cryptocurrency on blockchain games. When you play normal video games you earn coins but the coins you earn are limited to the game, that is, you can only use the coins in the game to change some features, or buy something but the coins can't be withdrawn. But with blockchain games, you earn valuable coins that can be used in the game, withdraw from the game and exchange or trade on the blockchain or other trading platforms.

• you also earn NFTs on blockchain games. The NFTs you earn can be used within the game or withdrawn from the game.

List 4 Games on Hive Ecosystem and include their in-game currencies.

What are NFTs and mention 1 use case of NFTs on a Blockchain game.

NFTs are non-fungible tokens that give a digital asset like art, music or pictures its own unique code. What this means is that if you make or buy digital art, NFTs give you proof of ownership over that particular art with a unique code that differentiates your own art from the same art owned by other people. Also as the one that made the art, NFTs enable you to earn royalty each time that art is sold.

In a blockchain game, when you earn items like flying sneakers suit, with NFTs you can transfer the sneakers or suit to other players, and you can also resell the items to other players.

PRACTICAL EXERCISE

Play/start the Illegal Busking mission on Rising Star

Step 1: I log in to my hive keychain app and click on the browser and paste the rising star link

Step 2: it took me to the rising star page where I log in with my username

And I confirm the operation.

Step 3: because I was going to use my mobile phone to play the game, I click on play on mobile

Step 4: I read the instructions, click on the boxes and accept the rules

Step 5: Then I copy my link from where it says show mobile link and then went to my firefox browser to paste the link.

Step 6: I then click on start a mission

Step 7: I click start on the illegal busking mission.

A timer of 5-minute countdown started for the game

After 5 minutes, take a screenshot of your Diary or information section showing the rewards you receive from the mission.
