In around 2–3 months I have generated around $170 after electricity costs! I can be making upwards of $1000 if I mined 24/7 on this laptop which is insane considering I don't even need to touch my laptop. $1000 a year can add up. Keep in mind that Bitcoin fluctuates. I mined that $170 when Bitcoin was around 35k in July of 2021. At Bitcoins peak I would be sitting near $200–$225! if you had multiple laptops or even computers running this, you can easily generate over 2.5k a year considering what you have. You realistically cant mine with old computers anymore since most miners need 64 bit instead of 32 bit. As long as you have a decent computer and a good Wi-Fi connection, I would recommend start mining. If that be on NiceHash, Awesome Miner, or even Kryptex.

Conclusion
I think if you have the right equipment to mine and a low electricity cost, then its worth it. There is some serious money to be made. If you decide to buy a miner online you can expect to get a ROI (return on investment) in around 1–2 years in most cases which is amazing!
