Albert Einstein's brain was removed within seven and a half hours of his death. Experts were very interested in his brain because he was a 20th century genius. Einstein's autopsy was performed at Princeton Hospital. The autopsy was performed by pathologist Thomas Stoles Harvey. The brain was then taken to a University of Pennsylvania lab. Many pieces of Einstein's brain were made here. Harvey kept some of the pieces and gave the rest to other pathologists.
Albert Einstein's brain was preserved after his death in 1955, but it came to light in 1978.
