Greetings friends. I recently went to the pet store with my brother to take Luna, the Husky dog of the house. She is very spoiled and the truth is that here at home we try to take care of her as best we can, but at the moment she is in a shedding process...

Saludos amigos. Hace poco fui a la tienda de mascotas con mi hermano a llevar a Luna, la perra Husky de la casa. Es una consentida y la verdad que aquí en la casa tratamos de cuidarla lo mejor que se pueda, pero en este momento está en una muda de pelo...

It turns out that it is very cold here and every once in a while, I think twice a year, she sheds her hair and starts shedding a lot of hair all over the house. During the last time I combed Luna's hair with her wire brush, I pulled out a whole bag of hair, because she had a lot of it, as you can see in the animated gif below.

Resulta que aquí hay mucho frío y de vez en cuando, creo que dos veces al año, ella hace una muda de pelo y comienza a largar mucho pelo por toda la casa. Durante la última vez que peiné a Luna con su cepillo de alambre, saqué una bolsa entera de pelo, pues tenía mucho, tal como pueden ver en el gif animado a continuación.

Well, with the intention of giving a solution to this small problem, we went to the pet store where they also do dog grooming and veterinary consultation. We were not interested in the veterinary consultation but we were interested in the dog grooming.

We left her there in the grooming area and went to see the other animals they had around. There were fish, rabbits, cats, dogs and birds, there was even a very small, tiny rooster.

Pues bien, con la intención de dar una solución a este pequeño problema, fuimos a la tienda de mascotas en donde también hacen peluquería canina y consulta veterinaria. No nos interesaba la consulta veterinaria pero sí la peluquería canina.

Ahí la dejamos en el área de peluquería y nos fuimos a ver a los otros animales que tenían por allí. Habían peses, conejos, gatos, perros y pájaros, incluso había un gallo muy pequeño, de diminuto tamaño.

Finally we came back from the salon. As you could see in the cover photo, Luna was completely shaved. They didn't remove all the hair from her body, but they did leave her with much less hair than she had...

Finalmente volvimos de la peluquería. Como bien pudieron ver en la foto de la portada, a Luna la afeitaron completamente. No le quitaron todo el pelo de su cuerpo, pero sí la dejaron con mucho menos pelo del que tenía...

When we got her back from the groomer, the truth is that I felt her strange, because she looked very different from how she really is, but she is certainly the same playful and charming dog she has always been.

By shaving her this way, she doesn't shed so much hair and the new hair that will grow, grows even nicer than the one she had at the beginning, at least that's what my brother told me who has shaved her a couple of times.

Cuando nos la entregaron de la peluquería, la verdad que yo la sentí extraña, pues se veía muy diferente a como realmente es, pero ciertamente es la misma perrita juguetona y encantadora que es desde siempre.

Al afeitarla de esta manera, no suelta tanto pelo y el pelo nuevo que le va a crecer, le crece aún más bonito que el que tenía en un inicio, al menos eso me dijo mi hermano que la ha afeitado un par de veces.

Only the tail was left a little bit of hair so that it would grow as fluffy as it had, but I think they didn't shave the whole tail so it wouldn't look so ugly, as if it were a rat's tail.

Solo la colita le dejaron un poco de pelo para que le crezca igual de esponjosa a como la tenía, pero yo creo que no le afeitaron toda la cola para que no se viera tan fea, como si la cola de una rata se tratase.

It's been a couple of nights since we brought her home and we do have to take different care of her now that she has less hair. It turns out that Luna gets much colder, as she no longer has that layer of fur that used to protect her from the weather.

That's why she doesn't lie on the floor for a long time and we have seen that she prefers to be on the furniture, so to sleep we simply leave a small blanket on the floor where she usually sleeps, so she feels more comfortable.

Han pasado un par de noches desde que la trajimos a casa y sí hay que tener cuidados distintos ahora que esta con menos pelo. Resulta que a Luna le da mucho más frío, pues ya no tiene esa capa de pelo que antes la protegía del clima.

Por eso ya no se acuesta en el suelo durante mucho tiempo y hemos visto que prefiere estar sobre los muebles, así que para dormir simplemente dejamos una pequeña manta en el suelo donde acostumbra a dormir, así se siente más cómoda.

She certainly looks prettier with hair, at least from my point of view, but she also looks lovely like this, smaller, younger, more puppyish. One lady even asked us if she was a puppy, because she looks like a puppy, especially with that pretty scarf we got at the store.

Ciertamente está más bonita con pelo, al menos desde mi punto de vista, pero así también se ve encantadora, más chiquita, más jovencita, más cachorra. Incluso una señora nos preguntó si estaba cachorra, porque parece una cachorrita, sobre todo con esa bufanda tan bonita que nos regalaron en la tienda.
