Where does happiness lie?

Hello dear readers!

What is happiness about? ... This question broke into my mind while reading an article about happiness, the article reviews a story in France that speaks of a mayor in a small French town of 9000 inhabitants who issued a mandatory decree of being happy. The particular decree will enter into force in October, and will also prohibit the dissemination of "depressing or sad music" and "books that end badly."

Freddy Riffaud, the mayor in question considers that "there is too much sadness in France" and therefore tries to spread this "state of mind" based on joy.

Now, can happiness be decreed? Is it possible that letter on paper can alleviate suffering and bring happiness? What effect can a decree of this nature cause on people?

To understand a little about this state of mind, we must try to define what happiness is, taking into account that what makes someone happy does not make others happy, is that the human being is so complex and often it becomes very difficult to achieve your happiness

In today's world, most people are not happy with what they have: The fat person wants to be thin, the skinny person wants to gain weight, if someone is short, would like to be tall or vice versa, mostly nobody is happy with what he has and would like to have what another owns, people are often dissatisfied with the weather, if it is sunny they complain because it is very sunny and hot, if it rains it is the same etc, etc, etc ...

Definition of Happiness

Mood of the person who feels fully satisfied for enjoying what they want or for enjoying something good.

Based on this definition, most people are not satisfied with what they have or what they have achieved, the world is full of people who are easily depressed to the point of reaching suicide, we can also add to this people in countries undeveloped, where there is inflation, unemployment, lack of food or medicine.

However, there is World Happiness Day and the ranking of happiest countries in the world. I honestly do not know if the measurement criteria they use are reliable, in 2012 the year the report was published for the first time Venezuela was ranked 19th worldwide and 1st place in South America, but for that year already the crisis in Venezuela I had begun, today seven years later I occupy the 108th position, that is, we are not so happy anymore.

Particularly, I find happiness in my family's dinner, my wife, my children, having the sustenance, shelter and health I feel full next to my family, although the situation around us is very difficult, in my home You breathe happiness and harmony.

Day to be happy!

On March 20, it was decreed by the United Nations as World Happiness Day, the day in which the report of the countries' happiness index was published. The report classifies countries according to six key variables that seek well-being: income, freedom, trust, healthy life expectancy, social support and generosity.

"The top 10 countries tend to rank high in the six variables, as well as emotional wellbeing measures," says report co-editor John Helliwell, professor emeritus of economics at the University of British Columbia.

According to a study conducted in England between 2002 and 2011 happy people live longer .

THE INVESTIGATORS DETERMINED THAT THOSE WHO ENSURED TO ENJOY THEIR LIVES FULLY HAVE OPPORTUNITIES TO LIVE BETWEEN 9 AND 10 YEARS OLDER THAN THOSE WHO SAID NOT BE SATISFIED WITH THEIR LIVES.

Conclusion

In this linkyou can see the index of the countries and you will realize in what position This is your country, which indicates your level of happiness according to the United Nations. If we focus on the variables studied by the international organization I would like to know how happy you are, if your country's position in the Ranking corresponds to the level of happiness that you own

There are people who need many things to be happy, for others it is enough with little, once I read a thought of someone who says: "It is not rich who has much, but he who needs little to live" ... Where is the secret of happiness? What is the ideal state to be happy? is something very difficult to know and a question to which many never find an answer.

Share with me your opinion about this topic, even if the question seems daring Are you happy with what you have? Do you feel in any way realized? What does this world lack to be happy?
