Happy New Year fellow hivers and members of @CinnamonCupCoffee.

How did you end last year and how did you start the new year?
What was your first drink or beverage for this year?

On New Year’s Eve, my family and two other families went to an amusement park. It took us about 1-hour to get to the location. We stayed there for about five hours. One of the rides the kids went on was “cup and saucer”. I never liked the ride as a kid as it made me feel nauseous. My kids on the other hand, loved it. For me, it was too much spinning. I’d rather stir and enjoy some tea from an actual cup. I could do with or without the saucer.
While at the park we saw some coffee signs. We realized there was a cafe but it seemed full and so we didn’t get the chance to go in. We left the park and then had dinner at a restaurant. It was fun and felt like a full day. My intention was to stay up and watch a T.V. program leading to the countdown to the new year. I guess I was so tired, I fell asleep.

Cup and Saucer attraction. No coffee or tea in these cups but maybe several teaspoons of thrill.

Early in the new year, my family and I enjoyed some lovely cups of tea. One morning we had some royal milk tea and some lemongrass tea. My very first cup for the year however, was a warm cup of matcha latte served with toast, eggs and carrot.bearmol@bearmol woke up early, got busy in the kitchen and warmed our hearts and tummies with our first breakfast of 2023. Breakfast was so delicious and that cup of matcha 🍵 latte was just what I needed.

The highlight of my first beverages of the year is one I had over lunch with a friend. It was a tea(non-alcoholic) cocktail. I can’t remember the exact name of it but it was similar to “Tea Cocktail Rouge”. It was a sweet tea with a slight tang. It came with a few blueberries, a cut of strawberry and a sprig of rosemary. “Just Good” describes it well.

Last but not least , is a drink I usually have around Christmas and New Year’s. It’s called sorrel and it pairs well with rich fruit cake. I have a few cups left and it all will be gone before the new year gets “old”.

Thank you for reading my post. Lots of love and cheers to a great year.
