A Clockwork Orange - The book is cool too!!

Hello, dear Hivers!
This is my first post on this community!

Today I popped off the shelf a book of mine that I haven't taken a look at for years to show a friend.
So I decided to share it here too!

This is one of my favorite books mostly because of how I got to it and barely recognized how cool it was.

I came across this Anthony Burgess's "A Clockwork Orange" 2013 edition by the Penguin Books in that same year.
But I had already seen the movie by Kubrick, which I already loved at the time.
I remember vividly this being a time when I had just found out that foreign books (I live in Portugal) were much cheaper at times if they were in their original language.
The minimalist cover got me triggered and I purchased it.

When I finally had time to peek at the "newest on the block", I was confused.
It was impossible to understand.
I remember the movie having some different "dialect" but I never thought the book was actually like that!
How do you read this at first?

So finally I found two great features I had:

  • On the top, we have a section with notes and references about the piece, so the reader doesn't miss one.
  • On the bottom, we have a "NADSAT Glossary" which makes the ready a whole consultation experience at the same time!

Finally, reaching the final pages of the book we can find prints of the Annotated Pages from Anthony Burgess's 1961 Typescript of A Clockwork Orange:

I didn't make a lot of smart and proud purchases when I was young but this one certainly was!

Has anyone read it?
