Stuck with a bricked USB? Help is on the way!

  1. Insert the USB flash drive into its port.

  2. Click Start, type devmgmt.msc

  3. Find Disk Drives and double click it.

  4. Find the USB flash drive you want to format and click it.

  5. Policies tab

  6. By default, the Optimize for quick removal option will be the one selected, switch it to Optimize for performance and then confirm it.

  7. Now return to your Computer folder. Right click on the USB Flash Drive and press on Format. The Format option box thingy will now appear.

  8. Select NTFS in the File System field to revert and wipe it to it's original state.

  9. Press Start and wait while the technical formating is done.

Now you can retry installing Linux or the likes!
