Rising hope

As we were approaching lake Doxa the fog started to get thicker and thicker. Although it was still noon, I could hardly see the road ahead. But as hard as the driving was getting, it was something else that was troubling my mind. We were told that the scenery around the lake is gorgeous and there are some amazing view points. The fog though, was not in our plans and it could ruin the whole experience. I kept driving anyway, until the comforting voice of the GPS told with confidence:

Your destination is on the right.

Many more people were there, walking in the foggy landscape, so we thought that it wasn't too crazy idea to start exploring the scenery. It was Saturday, we had all traveled quite a bit to get there and we were determined not to let a persistent fog ruin our weekend plans!

There were even a few street vendors, mainly local farmers and artists selling their products and inviting us to taste the unique flavours or take a look at the articrafts, they were offering. We followed the path that most people were taking and found ourselves at a small chapel, surrounded from the water.

It was an interesting experience to walk in this eerie surrounding. With no visible sky or horizon, it felt like floating in a cold white soup!

I am sure that some people may have found it annoying, some others romantic and I know at least one that found in this weather conditions, the opportunity to take pictures different than the ones he usually does :)

As time was passing by, we kept moving around the lake, discovering more scenic spots. The fog became a little less thick and at some point we started to be able to see a few meters away. A new set of pictures was in order and our hopes that we might see the lake after all, started to rise.

This was the second part of the small trip that we did the last weekend and there will be one more with the pictures that I took when the fog finally lifted!

If you missed the first part you can find it here.

The camera that I used is a Canon EOS 850D with an EF-S 18-135mm lens attached. I edited the photographs in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic

All the pictures and the words are mine.
